Certified advanced installers by SOPREMA
Our master roofers have completed advanced theoretical and practical training from SOPREMA (Quality + Safety Alliance Program), allowing experienced installers to further develop their knowledge and installation techniques. We hold advanced installer certification, enabling us to efficiently install all elastomeric systems offered by the manufacturer.
What is elastomeric membrane roofing?
Elastomeric membrane roofing is made of SBS-modified bitumen. These high-performance systems are heat-welded onto a layer of hot bitumen using a torch. To do this, the membrane (sold in rolls) is unrolled and the surface is heated, bonding it to the hot bitumen. The membrane fills all areas of the roof, ensuring complete watertightness.
The final step is sealing flashing, roof vents, plumbing vents, skylights and other rooftop penetrations.
Advantages
In addition to being 100% watertight, elastomeric membrane roofing is impact-resistant and can even be used as a rooftop terrace (when covered with white granules). Membranes of this color are more expensive than black membranes, but they reflect UV rays and the sun’s heat, helping keep the interior of buildings cooler in the summer. As a result, air conditioning costs are reduced.
Preventive maintenance and repairs
To ensure the long-term watertight performance of your elastomeric membrane roofing, annual preventive maintenance is recommended. SOPREMA even recommends two inspections per year, one in the fall and the other at the end of winter (or after an ice storm).
Preventive maintenance helps prevent minor issues from becoming major problems. If needed, re-granulation or targeted repairs (by heat fusion) can be carried out.
